THE CAKE WAS DEEEE LI CIOUS. This was the 4th of July birthday cake for my brother's 50th birthday. I am not sure if you recall, but there was a torrential down pour on that Sunday (6/27). We had to grab everything quickly and run like, well, I'm sure you get the idea. The cake stood up just fine; one would never know it had been through any trauma. Once back at my parents, the presents were opened and cake was served. EVERYone said it was delicious. I wanted to let you know although I'm sorry it took so long to do so. So, thank you again for the wonderful cake. Please feel free to share this testimonial with anyone not absolutely convinced that gluten free people aren't missing a thing with companies like Andrea's to provide such yummy treats!

I have so, so, so happy to have found you!! My child is highly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. I have told several friends about your bakery already, and directed all our family/relatives to your bakery. It's WONDERFUL to find somewhere that is safe for him. I am thrilled to be able to walk in and let him choose an iced cookie and know it's safe and that he gets to do that like all the other kids do when they go to a bakery. I just wanted to comment on the red velvet cake and say WOW!!!! That was totally delicious!! What was great is everybody here in our office knows I don’t eat wheat/gluten and they just thought I was splurging for my B-Day until I asked if anyone could tell it was Gluten Free and the looks on their faces was priceless. I couldn't decide which cookie dough to try first, so I just baked all 3 kinds of your cookies and they are AMAZING !!!!!!!! They don't taste gluten free at all. I can't believe it. I have tried so many other kinds and have been SO disappointed. Your cookies are even BETTER than regular cookies, moist, delicious, etc. WOW, I am sooooooooooooo happy.

Egg-Free Noodles – Eric, December 2009
If you miss the taste of homemade egg noodles, do I have a treat for you. We had pretty much given up on good egg noodles, but, on a whim, decided to try once more. We had some of Andrea's flour mix on hand and used that. Both the Celiac and the non-Celiac in our house loved them. Great texture and great taste. We live in California now, but I just received my order from Andrea's (12 pounds of flour) and will be making noodles for my wife's birthday this week-end.

I just fixed Andrea's "spinach, artichoke and mozeralla cheese" pizza last night. It was outstanding. I couldn't stop eating it. Their pizzas are large and I age half of the entire pizza by myself. My 15 year old loved it also.

Hope you both had a pleasant Thanksgiving and were able to stay out of the kitchen!! Just wanted to tell you that the pecan pie is amazing. I will need an entire new wardrobe because I cannot stop eating it. But the real reason I am writing you is because we had some unexpected out of town visitors and they brought me a regular pecan pie. I sliced a piece of both and the visitor who loves pecan pie thought yours was the best of the two. He had no clue it was gluten free. Anyway, thanks for all the yummy goodies you have created. Just wanted to let you know how much my family appreciated the treats I got a few weeks ago from your store. My kids have been Gluten and Casein free now for almost 4 years and it was a fun for them to have something new from a bakery. We'll be back soon! I am already looking ahead to the holiday season and my greatest GFCF wish is for sugar cookie dough to roll so my kids can cut out and decorate holiday cookies like I did as a child. All attempts I have made in holidays past have been disapointing. Don't hesitate to get the word out if this becomes a reality. I know lots of GFCF moms in the area who would love this product too!

Pam - It's 92 miles from my home to Andrea's and back and I have no problem making that drive for such great foods. Yesterday they had samples of the artichoke spinach pizza so I thought I'd try it but I'm sure I won't like it. Well....I bought one and now I wish I had bought two. Usually my husband goes with me (he was out of town) and he always says get more if you like it. That right there taught me not to go without him. They have oatmeal cookies now and I nearly bought a package of dough balls..he would have twisted my arm and I would have bought those also plus who knows how much other great stuff. There is nothing she bakes that I haven't enjoyed. I am the only gf person in my house and I've literally taken the rest of a cookie away from my 20 year old and told to eat the Chips Ahoy he likes so much. They do eat my homemade stuffing made with Andrea's plain croutons. The whole family likes my stuffing now even better than it's gluten filled counterpart. I guess what I'm getting to is that Andrea's is worth the trip. It doesn't matter what you like or how picky you are they will have items you will like. I dare anyone not to like most of her products.
Glenda - I've got you all beat. I drove almost 180 miles round trip this Saturday just to get some stuff. Well worth it. Also went to Original Pancake House for her pancakes. All in all, a great day.
Amy - The chocolate chip cookies are to die for. I just made a batch yesterday and they are GONE today. My son says they are better than gluten filled cookies. We live 45 minutes from Andreas but I will drive it just for those cookies!! My son is so picky. For him to love, love, love (his words) her food is motivation enough for me to pile everyone in the car and make the long drive. We never just go to Andreas though. There is great shopping in Chesterfield.

A couple of weeks ago, I had my sis, who lives in Chesterfield, picked up an order & bring it to us in KC.
My 18 y/o son is the GF one in the family & I must tell you how exctited he was to get the bred & buns, especially! He said it was the best he's had since going GF in December. He had said that one of the things he missed most was stuffing. Well, not any more! Thanks so very much. Even though he is 18 now & going off to college in the fall, it still makes me feel so great to be able to provide some of the things he loves. Thanks for helping me do that! My husband and I were in your store last Thursday. We live in Central Illinois. Our daughter has tried many of the things that I bought for her. She loves the "popcorn" She took one of the dinner rolls and ate it right out of the sack and said it tasted so good. She ate the small pizza Sat. night. The only question is I bought some French Dinner Rolls and I forget how you said to fix them. I have them in the freezer now. also I remember that one of the cookie batters i was told to flatten down but can't remember if it was the chocolate chip or sugar. It may be on the directions. i haven't looked at it yet. Nikki did eat one of the chocolate chip cookies that was already baked. Needless to say all of your items were a hit. I don't know when we will be back to St. Louis but do want to make a point of stopping by again. Do you ship to home addresses? Thanks again.

Just a note to say how very much my husband and I enjoyed your slices of pinwheel cake tonight. It was good cake and we really enjoyed it. I ate the chocolate with strawberry and Mark ate the lemon. O.K... my daughter's wedding is this coming Saturday..... Finally.... YAY! Can't wait! I will have about a dozen gluten free guests at the wedding. I ordered a Red Velvet cake from Andrea. I heard it is fabulous. I want all my guest to be able to share in some wedding cake (and me too!!) ha. While I was sending a confirmation email to Andrea, I got to thinking that I better order another to make sure I have enough (especially if someone who doesn't need GF gets into our cake,or if someone wants to sample what "guten free" tastes like... I'm always wanting to educate, ha...) Anyway, I'd rather have some to take home than not have enough... (especially when it comes to my son and my 2 little nieces who are GF). Which of Andrea's cakes do you recommend? It'll be great to have a couple choices for us, as the other guests will have a variety of desserts as well. Thanks for your help.

Response from Sharon -- Thanks for the opportunity to share with everyone how delicious Andrea's cakes are. I'd been meaning to post....I got a yellow cake with buttercream frosting for my birthday. It had flowers and writing—the whole works--like a normal cake! And it was delicious! I highly recommend it. I think she has fillings (strawberry, etc.) that I could have gotten also which would have been yummy too! Happy Wedding!

Just a quick note to tell you how delicious everything was this weekend. The pinwheel cake is sinful. I had to put the rest of it in the freezer before I continued eating my way through it. My kids LOVED the red velvet cupcakes. My daughter from Chicago, who is a cupcake freak, said that was the best cupcake she had ever eaten, gluten-free or otherwise!!! Just wanted to thank you for all you are doing in making us celiacs feel like we can have our cake (and so many other yummy things) and eat it too!! The new lemon pinwheel sounds interesting. Might have to try that next. You deserve so much credit for all you have done. My grandsons spent the night last night and this morning I defrosted some of the chocolate chip cookie dough. We made 8 cookies and ate them as they came out of the oven. My husband was amazed. When my daughter came to pick the boys up, the 3 yr. old asked her if she wanted to try one of the cookies. When I told her how good they are, she chastised me for having eaten some, then I told her they were gluten free!!! She couldn't believe it either. She also told me that when I sent home cupcakes and some of the pinwheel cake for her husband, he couldn't stop eating it and told her to hide the rest of it because he couldn't stay away from it. I have a feeling that their birthday cakes will be coming from you!!!

We had a full gluten free brunch at our house and all your items went over awesome with everyone (only 2 of us are on gluten free diets). The chocolate roll cake couldn't have been better -- everyone (even my guests that normally don't like cake) loved it. Another success was that we were able order out for pizza for our regular guests because your Gluten Free Pizza totally satisfied my son as a replacement. I thought it was good too -- my only feedback was that it was a bit salty but definitely the closest overall to order pizza. Bread was great as usual and I'm anxious to make some chicken nuggets with the bread crumbs.

Thank you again for the wonderful cake – I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the hard work you put into it. It was absolutely delicious – that chocolate recipe is perfection I think! You did an amazing job decorating it – the flowers on the sides were so adorable. I didn’t even notice those until we came home Friday night! The horses looked so good on it, I can’t wait for you to see it. I will send pictures as soon as I can – I had to borrow a friend’s digital camera b/c mine isn’t working right now. I’ll get the images on my computer this week. My friends and family couldn’t believe how good it was – it is the best cake I’ve had in a long time, GF or not! A few of Elle’s friends wanted seconds, which has never happened at any other birthday parties I’ve had in the past, and there wasn’t much left on the plates either. I know it must have been really busy on Sat. I felt badly not being able to help, but it sure was fun to celebrate with Elle. She was in heaven all day and it was nice to see her just enjoy herself and have a birthday unaffected by food. Thanks again.

I wanted to let you know that we loved the vanilla cake! It was so good that even my son who will only usually eat chocolate was very taken. The only negative effect I put on 1 pound because I loved it way too much (I love vanilla) so that meant I ate way too much. (It was great with vanilla ice cream). We finished it off Sunday morning so it last less then 24 hours. I am staying away from it until my birthday in January. I am turning 40 and I figure I deserve to have cake...alot of cake to help with the turning day lol. I will be calling you in a few months to order it! We are saving the other baked goods for Thanksgiving. we are really excited about tasting the pumpkin pie.

We entertained my aunt and uncle who came from Arizona. It wasn't hard to watch anyone else have their sweets because mine were better-no question. All thanks to Andrea! I had the red velvet cupcakes and pumpkin muffins. I'm an incurable chocolate lover, but those pumpkin muffins are superb! I love that combination of spices anyway, but I think Andrea has a secret recipe. And don't forget about Andrea's bread. Ahh!

I ABSOLUTELY loved the chocolate chip cookies and iced brownie cake that I just picked up. I checked your ingredient list and you used most of the baking items that I've used to make my gluten free biscuits and flat breads (since I also don't eat yeast.) I don't bake many desserts because I would be tempted to eat them all. So I was thrilled to see you had small packages of desserts for my family that taste so good. The cookies were exactly like the original Toll House cookies and the brownie cake was moist and light! I've had to try recipe adjustments time after time to get my gluten free baked goods to taste like "normal" for my family and you did the work for me. Thank you.
